| 1) Is Hair Loss Genetic? A problem mostly associated to males susceptible to the DHT hormone, hair loss primarily results from genetic coding given to the hair follicles during formation in the womb.
2) Can hair loss be accounted to stress or drugs? A major cause for hair loss has been reported to be stress or the ardent use of drugs. Trauma to head accompanied by scarring are known to cause permanent damage to hair follicles.
3) How much does hair transplantation cost? Transplantation cost is something that depends exclusively on how extensive the surgery is and the region where the surgery is being performed. On an average, it can cost anywhere between $1500 to $10,000.
4) Is it safe to wash hair soon after the surgery? It is prescribed and safe to wash your hair only 48hrs after the surgery taking care that you do it very gently, especially in the grafted area. It is advisable to clean the area from were grafts are obtained more vigorously so as to facilitate rapid healing and staple removal.
5) Is there a possibility of losing more hair during hair transplantation process? It is every bit possible to lose hair soon after hair transplantation. The primary cause for this is transplant shock i.e. when you lose hair in an area where hair is newly transplanted. However, this hair usually grows back within 8-9 months.
