 | Subject: My experience of market development for optical fiber cable (3) Mon 04 Jan 2010, 12:14 pm | |
| A Qin, a trader from Cameroon, came to China 5years ago and has been living in Guangzhou. A Qin is his Chinese name. I got the info from one of my friends one day that A Qin was looking for a factory producing fiber optic cable. To be frank, I didn’t know A Qin was a foreigner until I met him, because A Qin could speak Chinese very well. I called A Qin after getting his info and then he told me that he’d like to visit our factory on Saturday of that week. I remembered the first time I met A Qin. There were 3 people who got out of the car. One is Chinese and the other two are foreigners. I misunderstood the Chinese as A Qin and said HI to him. To my surprise, I was greeted by one of the foreigners. “Hi, Nancy, I am A Qin.” And the other foreigner, Romeo, was A Qin’s partner.
They told me that they were interested in outdoor cables and would like to have a look at the machine. I introduced machines for coloring, stranding and sheathing to A Qin and Romeo one by one and made a explanation of the working procedure. I took them to the meeting room after showing them around NECERO ’s factory. They told me the kind of fiber optic cables they needed and asked for a quotation. We made a deal in the end after short-time negotiation.
It just took me 2 hours to get the order. What helped me to get the business in a short time are three key points below: Firstly, the customers has urgent need of your products. Take fiber optic cables for a example. Cables for telecom are in demand and have a strong footing in a market in African Countries. Secondly, Necero is a manufacturer who has long-time experience of producing optical products with good quality. The third one, the most important one, is your attitude with sincereness. At present, I have become good friends with A Qin. A Qin told me that he visited several factories. But what made him to cooperate with me was my sincere spirit of cooperation.
